The Lincoln 1/8" PTF Special Extra Short Safety Vent Fitting 5099 is required for use in those applications where a build up of pressure in the bearing is undesirable or damaging. A vent slot cut vertical to the threads provides an air escape during bearing ll and when grease appears serves as a bearing ll indicator. The vent slot restriction permits bearing ll without build up of prohibitive pressure.
